Psychological Support and Guidance Services Office

What Does the Psychological Counseling Unit Do?

Students who apply to our unit undergo a Bio-Psycho-Social assessment:

  • Biological Assessment: Identifies any hereditary or past pathological conditions, and refers the student to a psychiatrist if necessary.
  • Psychological Assessment: Evaluates the student’s coping strategies, social relationships, and overall mental functioning. Clinical observation is conducted throughout the process, and standardized assessment tools may be applied to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
  • Social Assessment: Reviews the student’s relationships with counselors, family, and friends to understand their social environment.

Our unit has two clinical psychologists, and sessions are held once a week. Each session lasts 45 minutes and is free of charge.

Who Can Benefit from Psychological Counseling?

  • Counseling services are available to associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
  • Assistant students, administrative, and academic staff may have 1–3 counseling sessions if needed.
